ROUTE control provides the visibility and status of each route you have scheduled from your received orders.
This screen provides visibility at Route level only, including Route ID, the carrier allocated, the routes status, the load fill based on the equipment type being used, collection date etc.....
This
route /ruːt/
noun
-
1.
a way or course taken in getting from a starting point to a destination.
"the scenic route from Florence to Siena"
synonyms:way, course, road, path, avenue, direction;
What does ROUTE control actually do for you?
It's simple really,.. a route...
...is the journey, linking Stops along the way.
To complete the Route you need a vehicle and driver to deliver the products that make up the orders that the Stops have bought
Route gives you the most important detail at highest level to make a decision on how to proceed
-
Route
-
Stop
-
Shipment
-
Order
-
Product
But nothing worthwhile is ever simple is it...?
You will get:
-
view the condition and LIVE status of a route
-
organise the view to suite your requirement
-
action a route, including send an offer to a carrier to remove the route to the recycle bin
-
an invoice requirement
So how does ROUTE help with that?
Rollover the below to see each section of CONNECT

1. Filters
These are all the routes currently LIVE. They will remain in LIVE routes until the invoice they are associated to has been approved. They are then removed.
All your Accounts will show together, though you can configure this.
Click on the Route ID to get a Manifest.
2. Action Menu
The action menu enables a scheduler to manage and action a route at route level.
So each action will affect the complete route as a whole.
-
Edit Route date
This function lets the scheduler change the complete routes collection date. Once changed, the route will be moved to the selected date.
The route itself will stay the same, same carrier, booking times, Stop sequence etc...
Where this involves a route with a delivery type GROUPAGE / FTL / FLEET, carrier is informed by notification 'if the Route is in ACCEPTED status'.
If still in 'Published' status but a collection time has been added, the collection time will be reset and the route will need a new collection date setting.
For a route with a delivery type of 'PARCEL', if any of the service level, label, rate, tracking ID, label status had been triggered, these will be reset and need to be re-selected.
-
Move to...
This function lets a user move the 'complete' route to:
-
Unallocated
-
Recycle bin
In doing so the route is removed from the ROUTE control grid and placed in the selected option. The carrier is removed and informed by notification 'if the Route is in ACCEPTED status'.
For PARCEL delivery type routes, this will include removing rate, label history, tracking ID, service level.
The orders can now be rescheduled as required.

-
Publish route
A route is invisible until it is made visible to a carrier. This process of making visible to a carrier is called an 'offer'. Event will 'offer' the carrier the route.
When a user has finalised a route and it is ready to be offered to a carrier they must 'publish' the route.
A route can be published in 2 ways directly from ROUTE:
-
Directly to the carrier
-
Directly to DOCK
ROUTE does not allow the scheduler to add a 'route collection time' within ROUTE itself.
Instead ROUTE is directly integrated with DOCK and CONNECT
So the collection date is set but the time is either allocated by the carrier in CONNECT or by the scheduler in DOCK.
Directly to the carrier is just that. Click this option and the Route is offered to the carrier directly who must select a collection time as part of their acceptance process.
Directly to DOCK will move the ROUTE into DOCK and place it in the ALLOCATE screen. The scheduler just needs to open DOCK and drag the routes onto DOCK.
This function is useful where a 'special' or a route with pick ready determined product needs to be set but all others can be carrier selected.

-
Report a system fault This status depends on the Account you are working for.
Any system fault identified in ROUTE can be reported here.
Update the page and a support technician will respond
-
Allocate Routes in DOCK
A scheduler can use this function to directly open DOCK at the ALLOCATE page for the route collection date they have currently filtered on.
They are then able to allocate the routes they have published to DOCK
-
View Manifest
It may be necessary for a scheduler to get printed outputs of the routes created
-
Shipping manifest - per Route and tailored to the Route's delivery type
-
Day manifest - summary of all manifests for the day
